Retrogression Update
House Resolution 5924 was approved by the United States House of Representatives’ Immigration Sub Committee on August 1, 2008.  The next step for the Resolution is review by the House Judiciary Committee, after its August recess (their expected return is September 8).

On June 21, 2008, Typhoon Fengshen, or Frank, slammed into the Philippines causing the deaths of over 1,000 people including some 800 victims of from the sinking of a ferry.  Iloilo experienced the worst natural disaster in its history.
